I totally agree with Megori. But of course, choose something that you can make money + you enjoy/like at the same time. (in my case at least) It sounds hard, but actually not. Just start listing down, do some research, the pros and cons.. then take your time to decide. Don't make any rush decision, then wasted years after that studying something you might not like/want at the end. I'm sure you're mature enough to make wise decisions.

Anyway, Happy Chinese New Year and all the best in years ahead of you . Take care always ya mei. (and sorry for sounded so.. "motherly" ^^;)

Love, jie.

That would have completely through me for a loop, preparing one song like crazy and then having it change last minute. I get really nervous performing so I'd only be confident enough if I had lots of practice time. I'd like to think I would have gone ahead anyways but I can't be certain.

As for wanting many things, I understand. I've always wanted to be a teacher and I still want that. But I have many other things I enjoy that could have developed into a career: web design, art, photography.

I've had a lot of people who tell me to forget teaching and go into art; they see it and ask if I'm in school for it. "nope, teaching" and they look at me like I'm stupid. They think they're complementing me but it always hurts a little. I do portraits and there's no market for it. To go into art full time and make any sort of living off of it, I'd have to do advertising which isnt' portraits.

Web design is a very competitive field and that's not what I want. I want the security of a regular job. Same with photography; it's not regular.

So, what I plan is to teach and then do my "extras" in spare time and over the longer breaks I'll get.

But you DO have time to decide. But not only think about what you want to do, research the fields you're considering, what jobs are available, what the entail, etc. Are they competitive or are they regular? How much do they pay? Are they rewarding? What are the hours (and how will that fit into your future life you plan)?

For example, Michael is going to uni for Accounting and is almost done. With that degree alone, there are many regular jobs he can get that have better pay that I'll be getting, are regular, are secure, but he calls "the boring jobs." He's considered it but he's not sure. He wants to keep going and get his CPA and has considered a Law degree (not trial lawyer but not boring paperwork lawyer). The CPA can lead him in two directions: a better version of the former accounting degree or a competitive, fast paced, hectic first few years that will pay off in high high salary and regular job. But with that competitive, fast paced, hectic comes long hours, tons of work, and almost no time outside of work. Same with law. He wants a family and the hectic at first jobs would more than help provide for that family then and in the future BUT he'd either have to wait longer to have that family or not have the time he wants with them early on.

So, while he likes all of the options for one reason or another, other factors within them will end up making the decision.

I don't particularly think that if you choose one direction, you'll have to give up everything else you enjoy. There are things such as hobbies and "for fun" things rather than simply your "career track" direction. If that makes any sense. T_T Work kills my brain, sorry (I'm currently at work).

Congrats on performing better than you thought you did though. It's always a toughie to decide whether or not you want to go through with something that isn't what you initially planned (especially in front of so many people). I give you tons of props for that. =D

But yeah...I don't think it's all that bad to want to do so much. However, just remember that even f you want to do so much, you only have so much time in a day and so many days in a year...and you also need to include sleep. So, with good time management skills, you can probably achieve anything you want.

I wonder if anything I said made any sense...*headdesk*

Tiramisu X3~~~~~~ Have you ever tried zaboglione? I can't decide which one I like more :).

Oh man, 10 minutes for whole lyrics, if I were you I'd go home, my memory is just one big hole ;D.

As for Brit music, riffs and all this stuff, you should check Muse.
Here's one of my favourites songs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYoRqvyUcyc
though it sounds much better in higher quality since in this version few sounds are hardly hearable. [I might upload few more songs for you if you wish ;)].

It's good that you're interested in many things, but choosing a priority may be difficult. I remember that when I chose subjects for finals I still wasn't sure what I want to do with my life. When it finally got to me it was kind of too late ;). So "don't waste you time or time will waste you" and try to find a priority.

Anyway, I wish you best of luck with academia and hope to hear some of your music someday ;).
