Er, untitled?
I should blog more! Then again, all the entries I type are so long. Bleh.
Well, Chinese New Year doesn’t leave me much to say, so I shall talk about something else. BLEACH! Ah, it’s my cousin who downloaded it – and that’s after his pals recommended it to him. I only watched a few eps, but one prefect from my school (Sarven!), another Bleach freak, has burned all the eps into DVDs. He offered to loan them to me…*dance dance* I’m happy! 
But what does Bleach have to do with design? Er…how about this? My visitors from Winter Skies should know about it – it’s a template that I designed, but I didn’t know what to do with it.
So I consulted *cough*my dad*cough*. Here’s how it went…
Dad: I think you should try coding it first. Then, take a screencap of it…and then, put it up for sale as a custom premade. If anyone wants it, they pay maybe around $15 or so for you to customise the link images, banner and all. If they want the PSD, they pay more.
Me: Wha? Premades that people have to pay for?
Dad: Well, they want it customised, they pay. Simple as that. Because that part’s tailored for their site…
Me: Ah, okay.

So, yes. After I code it, I will sell it…but who would buy something like that? Maybe an anime media site? I dunno. xP I love it, though. Still, if I were to put it up for download on Winter Skies for free…it would be hard to customise. So there. ^^ Thank goodness my dad has a Paypal account for me to use.
Okay. End of Bleach talk and design talk. Which means, end of randomness for the time being. I promise I’ll try to blog more often…but well, I’m busy.
The only tricky part is the fact that it contains anime art and you would be making money with the use of it. Some could say that is what you’re doing, whereas some would say you were simply charging for customization. Tricky. Think that over before you carry that out, kk? I don’t want you to get in trouble.
Wee Bleach is cool! I suggest you read the manga before you watch the anime though. The manga is way cooler ^^ And people say that if you watch the anime first it ruins the whole series. But that’s just them ^^. I like the idea of selling the premade too, but there are so many complications x_x. Like unless you scanned the image yourself I’m not sure you’re allowed to use it. People even say that if you didn’t get the artists permission you can’t use the image, even if you did scan it in. But of course I guess thats different from when someone gives you an image and tells you to make them a custom design. Then if you get in trouble you can point the finger at them xP Because they gave you the image. I wanted to do custom designs and stuff but them Anataya told me about all this and I was like, way to complicated for me! Forget it x_x. So Midori does not make custom designs xP. Midori needs to get a job. She’s broke *dies*
Midori: not even if someone else gives you the picture are you allowed to. You’re making money off of someone else’s work and they aren’t getting any compensation. Pointing fingers might work when you’re a kid but in the real world, it doesn’t. It has to be your own work, the person’s own work, or from a site that says you can use it for commercial purposes.
That looks like a really nice design style. ^-^ Just hope you won’t get in trouble if you sell it, using someone else’s work on it. o.o;
I’ve heard of that anime, but haven’t watched it or anything. Sounds cool though, from what I heard about it. That template looks so cool! Prettyful! I’m sure people would pay money for it. It’d be handy for anime sites I think. Whee, good luck! Well, have a fun filled day!

But…I’ve seen that Bleach picture in quite a few anime media site templates before…ah well, guess it’s popular 
I’m trying to make more templates and less free premades now…hehe…I don’t have the time for doing anything webdesigning…so sad…
Oh…I didn’t read the other comments before. I don’t think you’ll really get into trouble with it…unless there’s a really crazy copyright dude going around stopping people from using anime…unless that person sees your template, they can’t really do anything. There so many people out there who makes templates with anime in them and sell the templates. I’ve seen it all…tons of forums with stuff like that. But, I guess it is taking a chance…I think it would be right to sell it though..I mean..seriously, who really can be all for anime copyrights when there’s tons of sites out there infringing on these “rights”?
Well, let’s remember the bottom line:
Selling something that isn’t yours is wrong.
Which is probably why most people stick to free premades. The reason why anime producers don’t jump on everyone using their images is because it promotes their product. However, when people start selling their stuff, they lose money – they won’t stand for that. Sure, the internet’s big, you can try to hide – but it’s also a network. Everything’s linked. The chance exists. I disagree with the bandwagon idea of taking an image just because everyone else does it too. It’s like saying “that guy stole, so I can too!”
You could sell the template without using the image though. Since you made the template part yourself, it’s perfectly legal. Just don’t use the image to do the selling.
Overall, this is sticky business =/. From my own experience, I say the best solution is to be original. Completely original. No one can get you for originality.
I realize some of the things I say about copyrights may sound harsh. I don’t intend to sound mean though, just trying to share information I’ve found through lots of research ^_^.
As for Bleach – fun anime. You should definitely give it a shot. I’ve never actually read the manga before, but I’ve been following the anime and so far I’ve been pretty impressed. It’s not the best one out there, but it’s one of the good ones.
And yesh – blog more!
